I love these four. (Five, if you count the handsome fellow in that last photo.) They’re some of my family’s dearest friends and some of my little business’ most loyal clients. We took these a couple months ago, to celebrate Celia turning 2 years old and Lucy hitting 6 months.

Sorry I’ve gotten so behind on posting sessions – junior year is completed, and I am excited to finally focus back on photography. From the looks of it, this summer is going to be filled to the brim with blessings – and I don’t just mean eucharisteo  : )

Grace and Peace and Happy Tuesday, friends.

I feel like I was just taking maternity photos for Carrie and Adam – then I blinked, and Eden turned 6  months old.

I’m sure you feel the same way, Carrie. (:

It has been so fun following you with my camera as you start your family. Give Eden a kiss for me. And Grimalkin. (:

I love getting to photograph this family’s story.

It feels like I’ve known Jeff and Natasha for forever, and I’ve been acting as their “Official” Family Photographer since they were expecting Celia. And now they have not one, but two of the prettiest little girls around.

Jeff and Natasha – twenty years ago, our family looked a lot like yours does now. Mom, Dad, two tiny girls, and a yellow lab. You’ve got a lot to look forward to.  : )

ZoeyAne

She’s the fairest baby of them all. And she’ll probably be the sweetest, with a mama like Bethany.

Beth – she is beautiful. I thank God that I can give you a way to remember exactly what she looks like during these first sacred days. Give her a Happy One Month Birthday Kiss for me (: I love you both.

She is eight days old and perfect.

These were taken a few hours after she was born. I was sort of supposed to be there for the whole event, but ZoeyAne was in such a hurry to get here that they didn’t have time to call until after she arrived.

Welcome, little Zoey. I already love you, and I’m so glad you’re here safely. Congratulations, Bethey – she’s amazing. : )

Bethany + her Small Bump

This is Bethany – one of my very dearest friends, and one of the purest, most selfless souls on earth. We became friends when we bunked together one year at church camp – she was on bottom, I was on top, and when she saw me going to my bunk, she’d lie in wait for me with her feet up on the bottom of my mattress and when I’d crawled on, she’d kick as hard as she could.

Bethany. Just for that – I hope that baby kicks you a few good times before she gets out of you.

She’s a good friend for me to have, because she has never once lost her patience with me. I don’t think I can say that about anyone else who’s been around me as much as she has. I’m kind of a slowpoke.

She’s expecting a little girl in early August, and I can’t believe she’s only showing this much. We might do another round of pictures in a few more weeks, but I wanted to share these before some of our old friends get together this week and give her a baby shower. Just to get everyone in the mood to celebrate this sugar-sweet Mother-to-Be. (:

Meet Eden Elizabeth, everyone  : )

Her proud parents are Carrie & Adam – remember their maternity shoot? I guess I thought that, because she’s a girl, Eden would look just like Carrie. But she got her daddy’s dark hair! It’s silky and smells just like a baby girl should.

We took these pictures just before Eden turned two weeks old, making her my very first newborn session. So thank you, Carrie, for trusting me with these Very Important Pictures when you had no reason to. I’m glad that I got to get some hiccups out and make some Notes to Self among patient friends.

Enjoy your beautiful baby girl, you two. And call me when you start needing a sitter!  : )

This is Celia, to whom I am the honorary Aunt Shelb, and she’s a year old now.

It’s been so fun to take pictures of this little girl, starting from when she was a little bump, to when she was six months old, to her first birthday party last month.

Celia is my first Toddling Subject, and together we learned that walking is fun, but sometimes hard, and always hard to focus on at f/2.8. But Cheerios are excellent distracters, and parents are excellent helper-back-upers.

Pinch and Tash — thanks for having the faith to squeeze in a shoot between a long nap and the rain! And also for producing this little girl.  : )

(And in case anyone can’t tell from the few shots of Natasha – Celia is getting a Little Something in August!!)

I think it’s safe to say that these two are The Cutest Expecting Couple in Nashville right now. Carrie taught English at my high school, she and Adam led the trip that took me to Europe for the first time, and her mother sometimes gives me pretty old things she finds in estate sales. So – they’re definitely in The Favorite Club.

They’re expecting a little girl in April, who already has a little pink Bible and a purple nursery – does that sound familiar, Mom?  (: (It’s me. I was a little girl in April, with a little pink Bible and a purple nursery.)

Carrie asked if we could take pictures at Radnor Lake, because it’s already a special place to their family. See that bench they’re sitting on, in the 9th and 10th pictures down? That’s where Adam proposed.

Too. Sweet.

Might not be taking any more pictures at Radnor, though, because a mild-mannered park ranger told us professional photography isn’t allowed. Carrie helped me pull The Student Card this time….wonder how long I’ll be able to get away with that one? Where is the Professional dividing line, anyway? I do own my own domain name now…egads.

Thank you, Carrie and Adam, for letting me be apart of this special time! You’re going to be wonderful parents, and I’m thrilled for both of you.

Celia

I took maternity pictures for these long-time family friends back in November, and yesterday I got to take the 6 months for their sweet baby Celia. We went to the same locations and used some of the same props. What a joy it is to watch this family’s story unfold, and what an honor it is to get to help them tell it through my pictures.

Love you guys.  🙂
